Japanese schools have a 5 day timetable per week. Originally students went to school for 5.5 days but this was changed by the Japanese government. Although many children go to extra night classes and are expected to work hard to get a good education.

they stay in school from7:00am. to 5:00pm. Also they go to school on Monday through Saturday and only leaving Sunday off to the children.

about 30 minutes more than regular classes in america BUT they do learn about 40 days more than US kids.
