Not necessarily true. Depending on what test you are being given. I am a methadone patient and undergo weekly urine tests and know for a fact that they cannot determine fentanyl specifically in the screen. As it is synthetic, it does not show up as a regular opiate and can be confused with alcohol. Every time you leave a sample they ask if you have had alcohol, if you report no and the test comes back dirty they will assume you have taken something like fentanyl. So, as long as you report that you had a few drinks before the urine screen or late the night before, they will assume it is the alcohol not the fentanyl. I don't know what kind of urine test you are taking or why but if it is at a methadone clinic, saying yes to alcohol will 'hide' the fentanyl.
