If you've swallowed an object that is not food, it may take 3 to 5 days to pass, if it doesn't get stuck.
If you're talking food, in a healthy adult, it normally takes 24 to 72 hours to digest and eliminate.

I don't think they diget foreign objects, so much as they pass them. Some things, that just aren't edible, are simply passed in the stool. As for the time, I'm realy not sure(an hour+?) you really just have to wait and see.
