It can take months to recover from joint replacement surgery, so you need to plan for post-operative care as well. You will require some amount of assistance, so make sure there is somebody available to help you. It could be a friend, family member, or even a trained nurse.

The house too will need to be rearranged slightly. At first, mobility will be limited so keep what you need nearby. Once you can start moving around, you need to make sure there is no furniture obstructing your path.

Clear anything that puts you at risk of falling, such as rugs, oddly jutting out furniture, or even electrical wires.

Most joint replacement patients (especially hip & knee) have been known to be able to stand up the first-day post-surgery. However, every individual has a different recovery timeline depending on their specific situation.

If you follow your doctor’s instructions well, you should be able to recover completely within a few months.

Ranka Hospital, Pune provides facilities for joint replacement surgery.

The healing time from surgery depends on many factors including but not limited to: the age of the patient, the general health of the patient, the type of surgery performed, the compliance of the patient to follow the Dr's orders, the patients perceptions of "healing", and so on and so on. There is also a difference between healing process and a rehabilitated process.

If the surgery was in invasive surgery where you were opened up and muscles were cut, it can take 5-12 weeks for recovery. For non-invasive type surgery, you will be up and around with a few weeks.

If you have recently had surgery, you may be thinking about your recovery. Fast recovery is something that everybody wants after surgery. Physical therapy allows the patients to attain more rapid recovery. Not only that, but they also can regain their mobility quickly after surgery. PT treatment again makes sure that any replacements or repairs made during surgery will heal properly.
