Theoretically, it should only take an hour or so. There are only a few connections, but I remember mine being somewhat difficult to actually maneuver due to the compact design of the engine. However, you should be careful when replacing the starter since you need to make sure not to damage any of the teeth on the flywheel. It would also be a good idea to look at the teeth at the same time to ensure that they are not already broken or damaged.
