Many died on the journey west. Around 6,000 to 10,000 died. They estimate that about 70,000 took the journey west.

This is not including the murders committed by people in Missouri and Illinois.

I don't believe any official record has been kept of how many Mormon Missionaries have died while serving, but the number is easily in the several hundreds, if not more.

From 1995 to 2006, there were at least 25 missionaries who died during their missionary service.
