Casualties were high on both sides, but Iran definitely got the worst of it. Now....as the the Persian Gulf War of 1990-91, casualties on the Coalition side were light, and exact figures should be available. Casualties on the Iraqi side were much higher, but not as high as they might have been. Because of the Coalition strategy, many Iraqi divisions were encircled, and they chose to surrender rather than to fight to the death.
