i had so much trouble.
and had no idea.
so a whole note gets 4 beats.
half note gets 2 beats.
quarter note gets 1 beat.
eighth note get 1/2 a beat.
and a sixteenth note get 1/4 beats.

Well it only gets an eighth of a note. You can have more than one and when saying them aloud they are known as 'ti'

There is no note that has 8 beats. Could be two whole notes tied together perhaps.
