First, when the offical is coming aboard, such as the Secretary of the Navy, the Petty Officer of the Watch would annouce 3 sets of bells or, Ding, Ding; Ding, Ding; Ding, Ding; then he/she would then annouce over the One MC, Navy Arriving. Once his foot steps onboard the ship, a bell sounds indicating that that offical is onboard. Also, the Boatswain Mate would pipe the SecNav (Secretary of Navy)on board as well. There is a group of officers lining the gangplank three or four on each side of the gangplank, rendering a hand salute to the offical.

Now, if it's the President of the United States, the game changes a bit. He still gets the bells. The amount of bells he gets is 4 sets of bells or ding, ding; ding, ding; ding, ding; ding, ding. Then the Petty Officer of the Watch would annouce, " United States, Arriving". The President still receives the hand salute, the Boatswain Mate still pipes the President onboard , but then the President receives his Presidential theme, whereas SecNav gets "Ruffles and Flourishes".
