Since 1KW-H (kilowatt-hour) = 1000 Watt-Hours =3413 BTU Then 1 watt-Hr = 3413 BTU divided by 1000 = 3.413 BTU So... bottom line is 1 watt-hour is equal to 3.413 BTU Note: For Reference: 1 BTU is the amount of energy required to raise (or lower) 1 (one) pound of water 1 (one) degree Fahrenheit.

1 watt is 3.41 btu per hour. You'll often see "btu" as a shorthand for btus per hour. For example on a propane heater I just bought the package says "3000 btus." what that really means is 3000 btu/h or about 880 watts.

Another Answer

A watt is the SI unit for power. The BTU(British Thermal Unit) is an Imperial unit for energy.

So, they are used to measure different quantities. There is no direct relationship between the two. The symbol, BTU, is not 'shorthand' for BTU/h -that's just slovenly practise on the part of manufacturers who can't be bothered to use the correct symbol.

It's a mystery why any manufacturer would label their appliances in BTU/h, these days! There's not much logic behind labelling electric heaters in watts, but gas heaters in BTU/h? Why not just use watts for all heaters??

948 BTUs = 1 watt for 1 million seconds, or 1 million watts for 1 second.

1 BTU = 1 watt for 1054.8 seconds, or 1054.8 watts for 1 second

1 watt = 3.4128 BTU per hour

Using:

106 joules = Average of (International Table) and (ISO) = 948 BTU

A watt is a measure of power, while btu is a measure of energy. Power is measured in watts or btu per hour. Energy is measured in btu or watt-hours.

100,000 btu (1 Therm) is equal to 29 kilowatt-hours. or in this case, you can use one watt of electricity to get 3.412 btu of heat.

948 BTUs =

1 watt for 1 million seconds,

or 1 million watts for 1 second,

or 1 kilowatt for 1,000 seconds.

1 BTU =

1 watt for 1054.8 seconds,

or 1054.8 watts for 1 second

1 watt = 3.4128 BTU per hour

1 BTU per hour = 0.293 watts

You can't convert that. The BTU is a unit of energy; the Watt is a unit of power.

How many watts equals 1 BTU?

To convert a watt to BTUs, the factor is 1 kilowatt of power = 3412.1416 BTU/hr3.412 BTUs equal a watt.AnswerYour question is meaningless, as these two units measure different quantities. The watt is the SI unit of measurement of power, whereas the BtU is the Imperial unit of energy. So watts cannot be equated to BtUs.

What higher 45000 btu or 1500 watts?

1 watt is equal to 3.41 btu/h. multiply 1 by 1500 and we get 1500 watts. multiply 3.41 by 1500 and we get 5115btu/h. Therefore we can come to the conclusion that 1500 watts < 45000 btu. 45000btu/h is higher than over 10 times 1500 watts.simplified answer = 45000 btu is hilariously higher than 1500 watts.-Tychusfindlay919P.S. if you meant 4500 btu/h then 1500 watts is higher
