I was sick of googling the calories and getting the WRONG information from Yahoo answers, fatsecret, livestrong, etc, so I called Safeway's corporate brands customer service and Yvonne was able to look it up for me-

460 calories in one Safeway bakery blueberry muffin.

There is a large variation in calorie counts for a carrot muffin. I saw as low as 137 calories and as high as 437 calories. It also depends on the size of the muffin tin you use. If you bake them yourself, using a standard muffin tin, omit the nuts, reduce the sugar or use a sugar substitute, use half the oil that is called for and substitute the other half with applesauce, you can greatly reduce your calorie count. If you do all the above, you may be able to enjoy a 150 calorie muffin that is very satisfying.

I found a carrot muffin recipe that has 216 calories before you make any changes. 178 if you use half oil and half applesauce. See link below.
