OK, I'm pretty sure the above is wrong, This was a question on my health test last fall and the right answer was around 2500 calories.
Yes The top one is wrong my mums friend is a nurse a and a 12 year old girl dhould have aroung 2200- 2500 a day.
going anorexic or whatever is never the answer. I think that 12 year olds should eat about 1600 calories a day. just stay active....please go out and do something like take a bike ride.....im no expert so if I'm wrong please tell me. ditto. i think its about 1000 calories a day, that is if your trying to down size you calorie intake. but the most important word in health is, HUNGRY! if your hungry eat something! if your not don't bother. god made our body's ever since we existed to know when we need to eat and when we don't, and if we very loyally take our body advice we will eat the way we should. and when it comes to your body, if you know your not eating wrong don't let anybody tell you how to handle your calories. No no no A TWELVE YEAR OLD NEEDS AT LEAST 190000 a day no questions asked!!!!! Also if your trying to lose weight or not go overweight than don't eat to much. stop when your not hungry anymore. I think 12 year old girls should at least be eating 1200 calories a day or something around there

You should probably get 2000 or more calories in a day. Your body is going to do a lot of developing over the next ten years and will require a significant number of calories to change from a girl to a woman.
Your brain does not stop growing until you get into your 20s. Limiting your diet at this point in your life can cause permanent brain damage.
