How many calories an elderly citizen consumes each day will depend on how active they appear to be. Often the elderly are less active which would mean that they would acquire less calories in say comparison to an average adult, otherwise this would cause the elderly citizen to become overwight.

at least 1200 calories a day, as that is the recommeded amount of calories for someone who is inactive all day. I would say anywhere around 1500 to 2000 calories is good for an elderly person.

That depends on her height, weight, activity level, frame size, etc. There are tons of online calorie calculators on the internet that tell you how many calories you need to eat per day, so maybe you could try one of those. Or (better yet) ask a doctor what your calorie intake should be.

They are most likely to need less than younger adults. The young adults usually need around 1600-1800 calories per day. The elderly will need around 400 less or 1200-1400 per day.

It depends on the individual. It's the same thing as asking how many calories a young person needs each day - there's no definite answer.
