Moses got the ten commandments twice.

When he brought the first set down from the Mountain, he found some of the people worshiping a golden calf and he threw down the commandments and the earth opened up and swallowed the people. He went back up the Mountain and returned with a "new" set.

Think of the first 10 Commandments as the 'Bill of Rights" in The Bible and the other 603 as the 'Constitution of the United States of America'.

There 10 main ten commandments given to Moses , but the bible has hundreds of commandments for the jews.

There is 613 commandments in the Old Testament, all of which could be categorized under one of the 10 broad commands.

Romans 7:6,7 states that "Now we have been discharged from the Law, because ..... Matt. 5:17,21,33,23,27,31,38 says" "do Not think I came to destroy the Law or the prophets, I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill." Jesus, mixed together references from the ten commandments and other parts of the Law, making no distinction between them. He full-filled all the commandments, including the ten. Why do Seventh-day Adventists not recognize the Mosaic Law?

In the Bible, it says that when Jesus died, the law died with Him...now most people believe that this was the 10 commandments but in fact it was the law of Moses that died with Jesus.....to explain, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Moses' law was one that had people sacrificing animals to cleanse themselves from sin, but God sent Jesus to die for our sins so we no longer need Moses' law.
