How many concerts has Dave Matthews Band had?
This is a largely unanswerable question because the band played an awful lot of shows back when it was first starting out that were not documented. According to the dmbalmanac, which tracks live performances dating all the way back to 1991, as of July 20, 2009, the band has performed approximately 1,898 concerts the dates of which can be verified, but it is more than likely that there are others which are not currently known.

Answer . \nAMERICAN BABY. Clarification . "100 Years" is the name of the song, Five for Fighting is the band, and "The Battle for Everything" is the album. It wasn't a car commercial, but a Chase credit card commercial (obviously didn't do its job if we don't remember the product.) The Nick …Drake song mentioned below is used in an actual car commercial, but doesn't sound as much like Dave Matthews as Five for Fighting does.. Answer \n. \n. \nI think you might have meant 100 Years,\nFive for Fighting, The Battle for Everything. I heard that commercial too and was asking the same question.. Answer . I wondered what that song was for years. It's called 'Pink Moon', by Nick Drake. ( Full Answer )
Dave Matthews Band has numerous covers in its history. A listing of all of the covers they have played can be found at dmbalmanac.com. The two they have covered most often are Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower" and Daniel Lanois' "The Maker," both of which the band has been covering since the ea…rly 1990s. On the band's recent Summer 2008 tour, they incorporated several covers into their setlist, which they had not previously played, including Pink Floyd's "Money", Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", The Talking Heads' "Burning Down The House", and Sly & The Family Stone's "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)". This is actually a bit of a tricky question. As far as studio albums, there are 8 officially released albums. There is also one that leaked on the Internet (called the Lillywhite Sessions), but is not sold commercially (though many of the songs were re-recorded for the album Busted Stuff). They are …also in the studio recording a new album right now (March, 2008). The official studio albums, in chronological order, are:. Remember Two Things Recently EP Under The Table And Dreaming Crash Before These Crowded Streets Everyday Busted Stuff Stand Up. Other "studio" albums include: Dave Matthews - Some Devil (not DMB, but a Dave solo album) Boyd Tinsley - True Reflections (again, a solo album) Lillywhite Session (mentioned above) Un-named 2008 album (mentioned above) The Best Of What's Around Volume 1 (a greatest hits compilation). The band also releases live albums frequently. They do this two different ways, releasing some in stores nation-wide, and also with their LiveTrax series of releases, which is available on their website, and at concerts. The in-store live releases are:. Live at Red Rocks Live at Luther College (Dave and Tim Reynolds, not full band) Listener Supported Live In Chicago Live at Fulsom Field The Central Park Concert The George Weekend On The Rocks Live at Piedmont Park. The Gorge and Weekend On The Rocks are each 2 disc sets with songs pulled from multiple-night stands at those venues. Through the website, you can also order the box set version of each of these shows, which include the full shows of each run.. Currently, the band has released 10 LiveTrax CDs, with the 11th slated for release in March of 2008. These are full show recordings, and are not given special names...they are just "LiveTrax 1, LiveTrax 2," etc. For information on those, go to www.dmband.com.. So, to answer your question, if you count every single release (and I'm leaving out the Warehouse fan packages, since those are not technically albums), as of March, 2008, you have 34 different released albums, with a grand total of 69 discs (ignoring bonus discs that were offered when albums were bought through pre-sales, etc). When DMB was just starting out, Dave had a business relationship with a Charlottesville, VA lawyer named Ross Hoffman. Hoffman was one of the first who encouraged Dave to form a band, and he owned the famous Pink Warehouse (as in the song "Warehouse). The contract between the two pertained to the pu…blishing rights of the band's songs, which were controlled by the company the two founded, called Colden Grey, Ltd. In 1995, after the band had become a hit with Under The Table & Dreaming, which had sold several million copies, Hoffman sued Dave for partial control over the publishing rights to the songs that were under the Colden Grey name. The two eventually settled out of court, but Dave was shaken by what he felt was the betrayal of an old friend, and the experience led to the lyrics of #41. As for the title, it simply reflects the song's place in the order of songs the band had written (i.e., it was the 41st song written by the band). ( Full Answer )

I believe what you are trying to find is the song 'When The World Ends'.
Charlottesville, VA though Dave is originally from South Africa and Stefan Lessard was born in Anaheim, CA.
This song seems to be about South African Apartheid. "How can I turn away. Brother/Sister going dancing through my head. Human as to Human" Many in that country just turned their head away from the suffering that was occurring in that country. "Cry freedom cry From a crowd 10,000 wide Hope laid… upon hope That this crowd will not subside. Let this flag burn to dust and a new fair design be raised." This seems to refer to a rally before the end of apartheid. When Mandela came into power, they got rid of the Afrikaan flag and created a new flag with the colors of the ANC being split by the colors of the US which have traditionally been seen as the colors of freedom.
