Kits need to drink milk from the mother rabbit for about 6-8 weeks. I know its long, but the female only suckles her kits for about 5 minutes a day, that's it!
how do you know if a rabbit is pregnant About 5 days before a rabbit is going to have bunnies they will begin to build a nest with hair from their chest.
You can try to evaluate it's final size by looking at his/her ears. The longest they are, the biggest the rabbit will be when adult. A dwarf-sized rabbit, when young, should have ears about 5 cm (2 inches) long or shorter. The only real way to know if they are "dwarf" is by testing it's genome, because the term "dwarf rabbit" relates in fact to a gene called Dw, that dictates it's small size. A ordinary rabbit can be small, but size is not what makes a rabbit a dwarf : it's the gene.
normally the gestation period is 28 to 31 days (about a month) and it takes about 31 days from the time they breed to the time of birth.
Hi there, the proper time to breed your bunnies is. For giants, Male 7 months to 8 months, females 6 months to 7 months. I personally would not breed them any sooner for if you breed them too early it stunts their growth and is sometimes harmful. Darf rabbit, 4 - 5 months for female, and 5 - 6 months for males.
Well i have 2 day old bunnies and they were born with thiers ;-) Baby bunnies are born with teeth.
It can not drink milk but, it can be in the same pen as it... sorry if this was not what u were looking for..
give your rabbit time, shes gonna have her bunnies soon
A female domestic rabbit CAN have babies every 30 days. They will rebreed the same day they deliver IF exposed to a buck. (I wouldn't recommend it) You are shortening the life of the rabbit and endangering the well being of the litter she is carrying as well as the well being of the litter she has just delivered.
You ever heard the old saying "hump like a rabbit"? They're trying to make babies. Rabbits can mate twice in five minutes. (That means that the male can inseminate the female twice in five minutes.) In about 31 days your going to be the proud grandparent of several baby bunnies.
A tipical rabbit can produce up to 20 babies they are only peagnent for 30 days so 15 bunnies a month for you but it depends on the kind.
You take a Mommy rabbit and a Daddy rabbit and put them in a cage with each other. Make sure they have plenty of food and clean water to nibble while they get to know each other, and maybe have the "Bunny Hop" playing softly in the background. Wait 31 days and most likely the Momma rabbit will have babies. There you go, bunnies!
A doe (female rabbit) will have ktis (baby rabbits) in her stomach for 28-35 days depending on the breed. The average is 31 days.
Well i have had rabbits for 5 years now and i have been a member of rabbit 4-h and a happy rabbit breeder :) smaller breed female rabbits mature at 4 months and larger breeds mature at up to 6 months.. what type of rabbit is it? the male rabbit would have to be at least 3 months -5 months before being able to actually create the babies. The babies will be born 30 days later.
The gestational period of a rabbit is 28 to 31 days (that's from the time of breeding to the time of birth of the litter). Additional facts regarding rabbit reproduction: A female rabbit reaches puberty around 6-8 months and can become pregnant as soon as she does. A male rabbit reaches puberty around 5-6 months and can impregnate a female as soon as he does. A female rabbit can become pregnant the very same day she gives birth. A litter size is generally 1-4 kits (baby bunnies) for smaller breeds, 5-8 for medium breeds, and can be as high as 10 or 15 for larger breeds.
28-34 days, this is called the gestation period.
about 3 days
It takes 28-31 days for the mummy bunny to have her babies. They are born without hair & without their eyes open.
