What do you do if you bought a used car from a dealer with a 3 month warranty and now they will not make things right?
\n Answer \n. \nA warranty should be in writing and be specific about what is covered. If you are having a problem with a covered item, the dealer is obligated to take care of it in compliance with the terms of the warranty. However, if the problem is with a non-covered item, the dealer is no…t obligated. Your only hope is that they are a reputable dealer and will take care of it as a matter of good will.\n. \nIf it is a covered item and they still refuse to take care of it, contact your local Attorney Generals office to find out what you can do next.\n. \nFind out what car dealers don't want you to know at www.dealertricks.com\n. \n. \n. \n Answer \n. \n. \ntry looking up the lemon law in your state just type in lemon law and your state in the search bar and it should bring it up ( Full Answer )
If you buy a used car from a dealer can you return the car and get your full downpayment back on the next business day?
Depends on the laws in your state. Go to your state attorney general on the web and look for a 'consumer' or 'consumer protection' link.
Can you return a car in NC if you buy a used car from a dealer the next day you have mechanical problems and have signed an 'as is'?
It doesn't matter where you are, "AS IS" means exactly that. You agreed to accept the car with absolutely no guarantees or recourse.
If you discovered that the air conditioner was not working after you bought a used car from a dealer is it covered by the implied warranty?
Implied warrantee means that the product is suitable for it's intended purpose. For a car, that means it should get you from here to there, but a car is not made to keep you cool, so the implied warrantee would not cover the AC.
Yes, if you take delivery of an item in another state the merchant there MUST collect sales tax there. If the merchant ships it to you out of state via 'common carrier' the merchant does not have an obligation to collect Georgia sales tax, but YOU have the burden to pay the USE tax and you will pay …the use tax when you go to register the car. When buying a used car from a dealer and they issue temp tags does the dealer insure the car for duration of the 30 day tags?
\n Answer \n. \nI am a used car dealer in GA. You are responsible for insuring your vehicle before it leaves the lot.\n. \n Answer \n. \nYou may not understand: While the tags are temporary, they are yours, not the dealers. (Dealer tags are something entirely different, and only for car…s the dealer owns). Temporary tags are actually issued by the Motor Vehcile Dept. until the permanent ones and title/registration paperwork are ready. The dealer just handled the paperwork for you. Car is sold. Is yours and your obligation - dealer no longer has any risk, and would have no reason, probably no right as he has no chance of loss, to insure it. ( Full Answer )
Answer . If the bank won't give you the loan for this vehicle. If your credit history is not good. You can sign all the contracts you like, but they will check out that person's credit history. If your credit is good then I would discuss this with the Manager at the used car dealership. If yo…u went to a banking institution for this loan then contact the bank you were dealing with to see why you didn't get the loan. ( Full Answer )
depends on the state your in and if they sold it on their lot or off premises. Mostly if you signed the contract you own that vehicle so i would definitely talk to the dealer and see if you can work out anything. Only some dealers give you that choice but it is a company policy not the law
How long does a dealer of a used car have to find you financing you have had a car for over 45 days and the dealer keeps saying they are searching for financing?
I CURRENTLY WORK IN A DEARLERSHIP IN AUGUSTA GA AND I HAVE WORK FOR A LARGE FINANCING COMPANY FOR MORE THAN 13 YEARS, AND I TOTALLY AGAINST YOU HAVING TO FIND YOUR OWN FINANCING IF YOU ARE DEALING WITH A DEARLERSHIP, PLEASE UNDERSTAND NO DEAL IS COMPLETE UNTIL A CONTRACT EXIST BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR F…INANCIAL INSTITUTION, IT SOUNDS TO ME THAT THE DEALRERSHIP YOU ARE DOING BUSINESS WITH IS GIVING YOU THE RUN AROUND, IF THERE WAS A BANK OUT THERE TO HELP YOU, THEY WOULD HAVE CONTRACTED YOU BY NOW, ALSO REMEMBER ALTHOUGH YOU ARE NOT PAYING FOR THE CAR, SOMEONE IS AND THAT IS THE DEALERSHIP PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELF AND EITHER BRING THE CAR BACK OR AT THE LEAST LET YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY KNOW THAT YOU ARE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BORROWED VEHICLE AGREEMENT IS UP TO DATE AND CURRENTLY SIGNED BY A SALES MANAGER OR OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP, AND IF THEY SHOULD FIND FINANCING, BE SURE THAT THEY DO NOT BACK DATE THE CONTRACT 45 DAYS....GOOD LUCK . Why don't you go find your own financing. It is not his responsibility, it is yours. You are the one buying the car. ( Full Answer )
Bought a used 2000 Corvette from a Corvette dealer. Should I buy an additional warranty which runs from 995 to 1400 dollars?
My opinion is NO. I would never buy an extended warranty.. Answer. A third-party warranty is, in my opinion, a gamble. You're betting that if, during the time you own the vehicle, something breaks that will require a costly repair, the warranty will cover it. I would strongly recommend a warrant…y on a newer high-end vehicle like a Corvette. The parts for higher-end cars can often be more costly to replace than other vehicles, for whatever reason. Additionally, there's peace of mind to consider.. Answer I like the GMPP plan the dealers sell because all GM dealers have you in their computer so there is no problem getting warranty service anywhere. I bought the 75000 warranty for my 97 and wished I had bought the 100000 since I lost the trans at 92000 and it cost over 3000 to repair. Corvette had a weak link inside the automatic trans that can fail even sooner and they keep selling the same stuff with no improvements. If you lose any electronic circuit board in your C-5 or C-6, you will have paid for your warranty right there! ( Full Answer )

Answer . \nI'm assuming it was a used car. If you bought it under "As Is" conditions the dealer does not have to pay. Check your sales contract.
Can I Return It . Nope. Once you sign that contract and drive the car home IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Unless the car is covered under warranty, a return is disclosed in the contract (meaning you have it in WRITING that the car can be returned based upon certain factors), or some other stipulati…on is stated on the bill of sale, it is on YOU. Your only other real option is if you feel the dealer committed some kind of fraud, such as mileage or undisclosed major body work. ( Full Answer )
Answer . \nIt all depends on which state you are from and the laws regarding this from each state. For instance, in Nebraska where I live you have 3 business days to back out of nearly any contract.
Answer Buying a car . I recently (8/1) purchased a new car. The whole process took 4 hours. That included driving the car, purchasing and driving it home. I already did my research and knew what I wanted. D.Simms
Answer . Most dealers won't buy a car outright, especially for the price they give you as "trade in value". A company called CarMax will though. Google them on your browser for more information.
In Utah, there is a a 30 day used car warranty. This means a personcan return a vehicle if it is deemed to be defective.
Some car dealers will do a buy back. This will vary between dealersand their policies on if they do buy backs or not.
What is the Florida law on returning a used car with no warranty how many days do you have to return a used car with no warranty?
If you signed an "AS-IS NO WARRANTY" then you aren't entitled to returning the car to the dealer. It is really at their discretion. In Florida if you buy a car "AS-IS" then that car is yours when you drive off the lot. No if's, and's, or butt's. Many people think there is a cooling-off period. This …only applies to door-to-door sales. If you have any other questions about buying a used car I suggest calling the Department of Motor Vehicles. ( Full Answer )
When buying a used car from a dealer is it the dealers responsibility to fix anything that is wrong with the car before selling it?
Depends----Are they selling it with a warrenty? Then YES. If "as-is" then NO.. ans . It is not their obligation to make any repairs, perhaps with the exception of any ones that make the car un-able to be registered or unsafe.
You cannot break a contract unless there is something that isdocumented wrong with the car and the dealership refuses to repairit. There is no provision for a change of mind, only a lemon law.
Yes, BUT READ THE FINE PRINT. Do EVERY required maintenence required or else your claim will be rejected.. Also if you sell the vehicle before the extended warranty runs out you can request a prorated refund on the unused months !!!!!. OMG YES WARRANTYS ARE SO WORTH IT I BOUGHT A USED MONTE CARLO …FROM THE CHEVY WITH NO WARRANTY 6 MONTS AND IVE BEEN THROUGH A POWERSTEERING PUMP AND I HAD TO CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT NOW MY FAN DONT WORK. IT HELPS A LOT IF YOU CANT DO MOST REPAIRS YOURSELF ( Full Answer )
If you bought a used car three days ago and find out it is not what the dealer claimed it to be what can you do?
Some states have the "Lemon Law" where the consumer can return a car no questions asked as long as it's within three (3) days. After those days have passed, you will need to consult professional legal advice as to what recourse, if any, you may have.
You want to buy Acura TSX in USA and use it in Europe there are no Acura dealers in Europe so will the Honda accept the warranty on Acuras from USA?
I believe that in the US at least Honda is not allowed to charge against the Acura warranty and vice versa. Not sure how it works in Europe but it may be the same.
After buying a new car and decide that you no longer want the car in 3 days can you return the car back to the dealer?
Good luck getting that done The law says that BUT they don't go with you to the F and I Office or to return it The dealer at best will PUT you IN another car. They dont pay those advertising bills on Returns. ans . There is no overall right to return or recind a car purchase contract. Once it is …executed/completed it is done. Some dealers may provide the ability to return it as part of their agreement, however they likely have many fee's involved to do so...(as well they should: your changing your mind should cost you, not them).. In any of these types of car purchase/return questions - the first thing to do is look at is that stack of paperwork you got when you agreed to the deal...you know, especially the one you signed and initialed, probably several times, and likely has a big bold heading like "Contract for Sale and Agreement for Purchase". See what it says about ways and reasons you can return the car, required notices, rights to cancel, warranties, etc . This is what YOU agreed to . Not reading it (or saying you didn't understand it) - and now wanting it to be enforced only as to what you think you would have wanted it to be then and they would have agreed to...- that is just foolish. But, look at it, maybe there are grounds.... Once you bought it (you and them signed and agreed to the terms, conditions and did the work on the contracts and titles), it is yours now, (and for them to accept it back, you both need to do the same things again.... And even in the dealers where they advertise a return policy...better read it...at the very least you will be expected to pay for all the liscence, sales, registration, paperwork, etc., fees, and probably something for the fact the car, once sold...even if never moved, cannot be sold as "new" again...by law...New cars have favorable financing, rebates, some have non transferrable warranties on things, etc. available...so they probably have some calculation for those costs. Rightfully, your the one who made a new car a used one.. The 3 day cancel frequently thought of is generally not applicable: First, the 3-day cooling off period applies to contracts signed in the customer's home - not at a company's place of business - for consumer goods worth $25 or more. And the contract must be pending â¦it can't be cancelled if the whatever the contract is for was doneâ¦.it is a right to cancel a contractâ¦not return thingsâ¦and a car contract is no longer pending once you have the car and titleâ¦it is completed.. If this cancellation period applies, it should be stated in the contract. ( Full Answer )
Some from Toronto auction at Milton, some from private customers such as trade in, some from other dealers. Used car dealers usually get their vehicles from leasing companies, vehicle auctions, and trade-ins.
If you purchase a used car in Georgia and want to return it, youmay not be able to do so. Some dealers will let you return it butit is completely up to them and what their contract states.
Yes, used car purchases are subject to sales tax in California. Related Information: When the purchase is made privately, the tax is usually paid at the DMV at the time of registration. When purchasing from a dealer, the dealer usually handles the sales tax payment, but in either case, it come…s out of your pocket. ( Full Answer )
You bought a car "as is" without warranty. If you don't have any papers that say its good for 30 days or more, you don't have any guarantee. Call the company & see if they forgot to give you the papers.
I would be very leery to purchase anything from anybody while there's still a lien attached. As you probably know, this entitles the lien holder their right to however much was loaned against the vehicle, which must be cleared at the time of title transfer. The dealer should have taken care of this …when they purchased the car from the prior owner. Assuming the vehicle is worth pursuing, try making an arraignment with the dealer where they will allow you to accompany them to the lien holder's business, at which point the bill can be settled. Under no circumstances should you pay for the car without them first taking care of the lien. ( Full Answer )
Most occasions, I must recommend any used car owner to purchase an extended warranty. Even if your vehicle is ten or more years older but has low mileage, investing in an extended warranty would be much cheaper than if it were older an vehicle and had high mileage. Before signing the contract, you s…hould make sure it's as comprehensive as you need it to be. No sense in purchasing a warranty that only covers mechanical failures over electrical. ( Full Answer )
What is the New York law on returning a used car with no warranty how many days do you have to return a used car with no warranty?
You cannot return a used or new car with or without a warranty. The cooling off period or buyer's remorse law does not apply to the purchase of an automobile. It only applies to unsolicited purchases.
What is the Florida law on returning a used car with a warranty how many days do you have to return a used car with a warranty?
You do not have any days. You cannot return a used or new car. You buy it, you own it. The cooling off period or buyers remorse laws do not apply to the purchase of a vehicle. They only apply to un-solicited sales. Now if you are asking about warranty repairs, then you have until the warranty period… runs out, be it mileage or time. ( Full Answer )
What is your option in buying a used car and suddenly the dealer called you and they said they can not get the rate they have told you?
what is your option in buying a used car and suddenly the dealer called you and they said they can not get the rate they have told you?
Lots of dealers have the upper hand and purchase their cars from auctions - especially used car dealers. What many people dont know is that you can do the same thing. I would check out a site like GovernmentAuctions.org - they have plenty of cars listed that are in amazing condition, but are sold ei…ther at government auctions or police auctions for very very low prices. If you are in the market - check some of them out ( Full Answer )
It depends on where you are. In at least some states, when you buy a used car, there is no warranty unless the car is still covered within the terms of the original factory warranty.
The car will maintain its factory warranty from the date is originally purchased. If you need to know that date take the vin # to the service department of your local dealer for the make you are purchasing and they can tell you what the date and/or mileage is for the remainder of the warranty. F.Y.I… a 36,000 mile warranty goes for 36,000 miles from the miles on the car when it was purchased new. If it had 1,100 miles on the car when purchased your warranty will go to 37,100 miles ( Full Answer )
None, The automitive business has no 72 hour right to retun clause. If you sign the paperwork and drive the car off of the lot the car is yours along with the financing.

How many days what? The Buyer's Remorse law does not apply to the purchase of a vehicle if that is what you are talking about.
No, the buyers remorse law does not apply to the purchase of a newor used vehicle.
If you are referring to new car warranty, my first call would be to the customer service number of the manufacturer. If that provides no satisfaction, then I would take it to a different dealership. If that doesn't give you satisfaction, then I would request to speak to the manufacturer dealer servi…ce rep. They come by usually once a month, and have the authority to make service decisions independent of the dealer. Last effort would be to seek arbitration, which is usually spelled out in the owners manual, or seek an attorney. In used vehicles, a call to the warranty company is usually sufficient. If you are not satisfied with the warranty companies decision, you can arbitrate their decision. This info is usually on the back of your service contract. ( Full Answer )

No, there is no such law. The buyers remorse law does not apply tothe purchase of a new or used vehicle.
No, the buyers remorse law does not apply to the purchase of any vehicle or motorcycle.
You can sell 5 without a dealers license. But I would advise you to call your state DMV to check for sure as the law may have changed.
A used car is likely to already have license plates issued to it. These may be out-of-state plates. License plates stay with the car (see below for exception), regardless of owner. If you buy a used car that already has plates, the registration may not be current. In that case, the dealer will pu…t a temporary registration decal on the car window to indicate that the registration is in process. You can drive the car like this. Typically there will be a delay of 30-60 days while the DMV processes it, and they might send the sticker to the dealer. In that case, you take the car back to the dealer and they will put it on for you. The Department of Motor Vehicles is responsible for handling vehicle title and plate issuance, and such details are usually not taken care of until the car is sold and a new owner is established. Most dealerships will handle the title transfer process for you (for a fee, which is typically itemized on your contract invoice -- if not, you should ask for an itemized list of fees). A used car that does not have license plates already issued to it is something you should investigate. The car may be a salvage title, and the car was previously reported destroyed and the original plates voided. It is legal to resell such a car, but it will be issued new plates and the title will note this salvage status. A salvage title indicates that some serious damage occurred to the vehicle. This could be a traffic accident exceeding a certain dollar value, flooding, hail damage, or any of a number of other incidents. If you suspect that a dealership is trying to sell a salvage car without disclosing that salvage status, you should run far away and go to another dealer. ( Full Answer )
