If there were only 25 time zones, they would all be offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) by multiples of a whole hour and would be limited to UTC - 12 hrs. to UTC + 12 hrs.
Welcome to reality! We have 41 time zones ranging from UTC - 11 hrs. to UTC + 14 hrs. and with offsets that include UTC + 5:45.

There are roughly 24 time zones each being 15 degrees of longitude apart. BUT... That is not really true in the actual world. See the Related Link below for time zones around the world... some are only 15 minutes from their neighbor, some 30, or 45, or 90, or even 120 minutes apart! And that being the case, there are many, many more time zones around the world than only the 24 that your teacher is talking about. check out the link... http://www.worldtimezone.com/
The ideal configuration would be 25 time zones, their time offsets being multiples of a whole hour from UTC-12 to UTC+12. UTC-12 and UTC+12 should each span 7.5° of longitude, and each of the other 23 zones should span 15° of longitude. (2 x 7.5° + 23 x 15° = 360°)
There are 24 hourly time zones in a 360 degree circumpherence so there are 360/24 = 15 degrees per hourly time zone.
There is a difference of 15 degrees between each time zone :)
Its because 360 (Earth) divided by 24 (Hours per Day) = 15 degrees
:)
Time zone's are 15 degree's apart.
15 degrees apart
Time Zones are organized 15 degrees apart, every 15 degrees is a new time zone
There are 24 time zones. Each is one hour wide.
The earth is divided into 24 times zones. Divide 360 degrees by 24 and you will get the measure in degrees.
There would be 34 time zones
they are further apart
Approximately 15 degrees apart. It would be exactly 15 degrees, but politics gets in the way.
Time Zones are organized 15 degrees apart, every 15 degrees is a new time zone
24 hours = 360 degrees so each hour = 360/24 = 15 degrees. Then, 14 time zones (if they are each one hour apart) = 14*15 = 210 degrees.
There are 24 time zones. Each is one hour wide.
There is one time zone for every 15 degrees of longitude - 24 time zones in all with each being 1 hour apart.
The earth is divided into 24 times zones. Divide 360 degrees by 24 and you will get the measure in degrees.
Nautical time zones are each made up of 15 degrees. Terrestrial time zones, however vary from zone to zone and country to country.

There would be 34 time zones
There is no time difference between Maine and Massachusetts.
24..all an hour apart, and an hour's difference.
they are further apart
