There were enough life-jackets for all 2,208 passenger's, and nearly every one was wearing one. The big problem was that the water was so cold that 10 minutes in it killed you.

A good boat would be something that is big enough for a family and has a good motor. Extra storage is a plus to put life jackets and supplies in case of emergencies.

How would you get everyone off of the Titanic?

they CLAIMED that the titanic was unsinkible therefor they put only 20 life boats on the titanic, which was not even enough for atleast half of the people on the ship. But each life boat was tested by 75 men on each boat.

In what context? I would think it means you can't wear jeans or jackets.

Had everyone put on a life jacket on titanic how many extras would there have been?

There were 3500 life belts/jackets and 48 life rings. That means there would have been in excess of 1000 (there were over 2200 people on board) extras but they were useless in the frigid North Atlantic. Most people in the water would not have drowned but died from hypothermia within minutes. Others on the ship as it went down or who were too close to the ship and got sucked down with it obviously would have drowned.

What could Titanic's captain done for the Titanic not to sink?

Despite common rumor, not much. If he had gone slower, yes they would have noticed it from farther away, but it would have been harder to turn it away from the iceberg! And no, he was not going the fastest Titanic was expected to go. Titanic was never run at its highest speed, it never got the chance. They were expecting to hit top speed the next day. And ramming into it head first would have saved it from sinking (probably), but it would have killed everyone working in the front of the ship.

Were the people scared when they were on board the titanic?

I would think so, yes. Set yourself in their place, the ship was sinking and it was not enough lifeboats to everyone and you knew that you probably would die... Would you be scared? I know that I would have been.

What did you call the Titanic's captain?
