Too many.
The Sims 3 is a game that many fashion and interior designers might find intersting as it allows for you to design both cloths and homes.
Many people have been using C-DESIGN Fashion for a while, and they are pretty happy with it. Click on the C-Design link in the Related Links section below. OptiTex fashion design software is the leading developer of 2D & 3D solutions for many sewn products.
Well I think it would depend on the college but if you were attending a fashion college, the major would be fashion design but a four-year or a community college might have it under a different name. A great fashion college for fashion design is (FIDM)The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in LA. The school has years and years of experience in the fashion industry and many famous fashion designers graduated from FIDM.
A fashion designer has many more job duties than what the general public may think. Fashion designers are a part of almost every aspect of introducing new fashions, not just creating the basic design. Fashion designers are also involved in fashion showings, or fashion shows, which are popular ways for designers to show their designs to the public. A fashion designer will usually begin with the basic design of a garment. He or she may sketch, sew, or somehow show the vision which begins the design. This first prototype is changed and refined many more times as the designer creates a toile, or model of the design in some inexpensive fabric, like muslin or calico. Next, a card pattern, or cardboard pattern, is made, with each section of the garment made from pieces of cardboard and put together to make sure that everything fits. Next, the fashion designer chooses colors and materials, and has the garment made.
There are many fashion schools around the country for student cloth designers. On the west coast there is the Vancouver Fashion school which is quite good.
Fashion designers should have an interest in fashion. They have to be creative. They are either born with, or aquire, an "eye" for spotting trends before they happen. They should know how to construct garments. Many designers also have had higher education; they have a degree in fashion design, and have studied fashion history. But it is possible to start a business without it. Just be commited to what you do, and be passionate about fashion, and you're already at a good start!
fashion designers do not have an average salary. they get paid by how much their designs sell for. a rookie who has no history may not get many buyers, and no money. but well known fashion designers (yves saint laurent, Coco Chanel, etc.) would get paid thousands of dollars for one piece. but if you are looking for a stable job with a constant pay... don't try to be a fashion designer.
Pakistan have many fashion designers in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad on large Scale, Indiviual and corporations.
A lot
I'm sure that everyone will have their opinions on how to answer this question but I would say reading as many fashion magazines as possible and just practicing your craft. Also, do research into schools with the best fashion design programs. Look up your favorite fashion designers and find out where they graduated. My favorite designers that I follow are Juicy Couture, Monique Lhuillier and Nick Verreos and all graduated from the fashion design program at FIDM. The school also has killer industry connections and their classes are cutting edge. It may be worth looking into their program :)
Neither. Designers set up fashion shows themselves. If it is a mixed show, with many different designers, and a competition of sorts, I would expect that the designers would pay to be in the show.
The technical answer is no, they are not the same. By definition, a tailor is someone who repairs, alters or makes clothing. A fashion designer, on the other hand, designs clothing. They may not necessarily have the skills to make the actual piece of clothing they design although in today's world, many fashion designers have learned how to make their designs.
