Sean Connery played James Bond in 7 films:

  • Dr. No (1962)
  • From Russia with Love (1963)
  • Goldfinger (1964)
  • Thunderball (1965)
  • You Only Live Twice (1967)
  • Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
  • Never Say Never Again (1983)

TRIVIA: Did you know... while Connery played the first movie James Bond, Barry Nelson played Bond in a 1954 CBS television production of "Casino Royale".

Only the last was a non-canon Bond, outside the Broccoli-Saltzman /EON franchise. It was essentially a remake of the movie "Thunderball". The title apparently derives from Connery's wife's response to his vow that he would "never play James Bond again."

Connery launched the Bond film series with "Dr. No" (1962). He then starred in "From Russia with Love" (1963), "Goldfinger" (1964), "Thunderball" (1965) and "You Only Live Twice" (1967). He declined to do the 1969 Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," but returned for "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971). His last appearance as Bond was in the 1983 "Thunderball" remake titled "Never Say Never Again."
