Of the forty-two delegates who attended most of the meetings, thirty-nine actually signed the Constitution. Edmund Randolph and George Mason of Virginia and Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts refused to sign due in part to the lack of a Bill of Rights.

Many people would have different definitions of what determined the title of Founding Father. When I did extensive research I came up with seven key Founding Fathers that were instrumental in establishing the United States and were leaders in the early years of the republic. Recently I was gratified to find to credible sources that confirm these seven. The Franklin Mint just came out with a commemorative set of coins on the Founding Fathers...the same seven. Richard B. Morris has written many fine books on the early U.S years. One of them is titled: Seven Who Shaped Our Destiny : The Founding Fathers As Revolutionaries. The seven are: George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. My research shows proof that George Washington was #1and Alexander Hamilton was #2.

What is the name given to the people who wrote our constitution?

The terms "Founding Fathers" or "Founders" are often used to collectively describe the men who wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. To refer only to the signers of the Declaration of Independence, the term "Continental Congress" is generally used. "Constitutional Convention delegates" would describe only the people who assembled to draft the Constitution.

How is secularism and revisionist history replacing your religious foundations and the intent of our Founding Fathers?

I would think it is mostly the other way around, except maybe historical revisionism, which both sides are guilty of. The intent of the founding Fathers was a secular republic as the Constitution makes clear to anyone not deluded. We have no religious foundations to this country and many, if not most of the founding Fathers were deists and far from religious.
