The US Navy currently does not have a one star admiral. The equivalent would be a Rear Admiral, Lower Half with two stars. The pay would vary based on years in service and can be found on any military pay chart.

How many Fleet Admirals has the Navy had and who were they?

If you are referring to the rank of "Fleet Admiral of the United States Navy", which is the equivalent of a 5-star general, then there have been only 4 in the history of the US Navy (many more in other country's navies):Chester NimitzWilliam LeahyErnest KingWilliam HalseyGeorge Dewey was promoted to "Admiral of the Navy" in 1903 (in recognition of his service in the Spanish-American War), which technically out-ranks the "Admiral of the Fleet", but it is a historical anomaly.See the link below for more information.

Why are the stars on a master chief's and senior chief's anchor inverted?

Unlike the stars used to represent officers of flag rank (Admirals) which point upward, the stars on the anchor of the Senior Chief Petty Officer and the Master Chief Petty Officer point down because they do not THEMSELVES represent a higher rank as do the one, two, three, and four stars of Admirals as they are promoted (five star Admirals... and Generals for that matter... exist only in time of war). The anchor and star(s) of the Senior and Master Chief Petty Officer TOGETHER represent rank.

What branch of the us armed forces has admirals?

Both the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard have the rank of admiral. This is a four star flag ranking and puts admirals on a lateral scale with those of generals in the army and marines. Technically, there is a five star admiral ranking, but this rank is reserved for wartime use only.

How many three star admirals are there in the present US navy?

Not very many, although we can't really be sure. According to federal law, there can only be 302 general officers on active duty in the Army. Of them, 49 may have three or four stars, and 253 may have one or two stars.

Are there any five star generals in military now?

No. The need for a 5 star general for the United States began during World War 2 and was stopped after the promotion of Gen. Omar Bradley. Since the Marine Corps is a part of the Department of the Navy it is very unlikely that a Marine Corps general would ever get promoted to the rank of a '5 Star' general.

How do you turn in a impostor of a retired four star Navy Seal?

Note that in the history of the U.S. Navy, there have only been 2 SEAL's to achieve the rank of 4-star Admiral. The first SEAL to achieve 4-star rank was former Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Commanding Officer Admiral (SEAL) Eric Olsen; the other one is the current (2013) USSOCOM CO Admiral (SEAL) William McRaven. Also, there are restrictions by law on how many Admirals the Navy can of 4-star rank at any given time, and there have only been just over 200 4-star Admirals in U.S. Navy history. The easiest thing to do would be to confront him with those facts, but the best course of action realistically is to have him outed by real SEAL's, either active or retired. Former Navy SEAL's Don Shipley and Steve Robinson are such SEAL imposter hunters, and they've outed quite a few over the years. Once an impostor is outed and in the database, they're scamming activities drop significantly.Shipley runs ExtremeSealExperience - his Twitter page link is listed below, and his contact number is at the ESE site. Your best option is to contact him and get him involved.
