Most suspects who see a huge K9 that is barking at them with huge teeth will give up without a fight. K9's are also very good for tracking a subject after the subject has left the scene. They use the scent of the suspect and follow their scent on the ground and track where they may have gone for hiding. K9's have been used for many years and most if not all police agencies use K9's for helping them out for fighting crime. K9's will be used for many years to come.
