I'm a kid and in my P.E. class your average exercise a day is supposed to be an hour and 30 minutes. And Adults are supposed to get 2 hours. And according to watching TV too your supposed to get exercise because sitting on the couch watching TV can make you obese. So what a great question!
Depends on the age of the child and with what you consider as exercise. If exercise means dedicated training in a particular discipline, then they should be of school age before they start. But if we're talking about being physically active while playing, then the more the better. Today, with the lure of computer games and similar the trouble is usually to get them active enough. Getting them into ana ctivity that raises their pulse for at least one hour each day would be a good basic recommendation.
