The logic for determining whether or not a year is a leap year, when you're looping through a span of years is this:

i%4==0 && i%100!=0)i%400==0

In plain English:

1) if the number is evenly divisble by 4 and NOT evenly divisible by 100

-or-

2) the number is evenly divisible by 400

Then it's a leap year.

There are 4 years between leap year!

There are 4 years between every leap year. Correction: There are 4 years between MOST leap years. That's the case 99.25% of the time. For the other 0.75% of the time, there are 8 years between leap years.

Between 2002 and 2011 the leap years were 2004 and 2008.

24 leap years

== ==

There were 4 & 3/4 leap years between 1994 and 2011.

three years

there will be 23 years

There were three leap years in that period:200020042008

1992 and 1996 were the leap years between 1990 and 1999.

There were 10 leap years between 1970 and 2011.

1996 and 2000 were leap years during the time span given.

Indeed there can be 8 years between consecutive leap years. The rule is that a year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4 and not divisible by 100, or if it is divisible by 400. For example, 1700, 1800 and 1900 were not leap years but 1600 and 2000 were leap years.The last occurrence of an 8-year gap between consecutive leap years was therefore 1896 and 1904. The next occurrence will be 2096 and 2104.

They're between four years' worth of holidays... a leap year occurs every four years.

1999 was the only year between 1998 and 2000, and it was not a leap year.

There were. 1972 and 1976 were intercalary years (leap years), as was 1980. Such years are sometimes called bissextile years.

Leap years are any years evenly divisible by four, with two exceptions. So years like 2004 and 2008 are leap years.The two exceptions:Any "century" year evenly divisible by 100 is NOT a leap year, so 1900 was not a leap year and 2100 will not be a leap year, except:Any year number divisible by 400 IS a leap year, so 2000 was and 2400 will be leap years.Of the 1000 years between 2001 and 3000, there are 250 "divisible by 4" years, minus 10 "century" years plus 2 "divisible by 400" years (2400 and 2800) gives 242 leap years between 2001 and 3000. Add 2000, and there are 243 leap years between 2000 and 3000, inclusive.

There were six leap years between 1991 and 2012 (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012).

8 years

There are 25 leap years between 1917 and 2017. Most centuries have 24 leap years, but the period indicated includes the leap century day (as I call it) of February 29, 2000.

2008 was a leap year. As a leap year only occurs every 4 years, the next one is 2012, so no other one occurred between then.2008 was a leap year. Three leap years happened in that time period: 2000, 2004 and 2008. A leap year occurs every four years, so 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 will all be leap years.

There have been 27 leap years between 1900 and 2010. The next one is 2012.

Between 1962 and 2011, there were 12 leap years: every four years from 1964 through 2008 inclusive.
