There are 28 letters in the Danish alphabet:


A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z, Æ, Ø, Å

Æ = "eh" as in red
Ø = "er" as in search Å = "o" as in go


The danish alphabet only includes C, Q, W, X and Z because these letters are used to spell foreign words; they are never used in the spelling of native words.


In school Danish children usually don't learn about the letter W.
