right lung has 3 lobes (superior, inferior & middle) while the left lung has 2 lobes (superior & inferior)

Lobes of the Lung:

The right side of the lung has three lobes. The left side contains two, due to space restrictions concerning the heart's location on that side.

The right lung has three and the left has two (although a small third is occasionally found). The lobes are then broken up into bronchopulmonary segments, e.g. apical, basolateral etc.
