100,000
The Gates website ( they make timing belts etcetera ) shows for the 2.2 liter four cylinder engine in a 1997 Toyota Camry : ( they recommend changing the timing belt at 60,000 miles severe )
No, changing the timing belt on a Toyota Highlander 4 cylinder is not difficult. You will need to remove the skid plate from under the vehicle to access the belt more easily.
Yes , according to the Gates website the 3.0 liter V6 engine in a 2002 Toyota Camry has a timing BELT . It is a NON - INTERFERENCE engine and they recommend changing the belt at 90,000 miles
48k is recommended
Belt manufacturers recommend changing timing belts every 60,000 miles.
Maximum 90K miles.
The year and engine size would help but you may have a bent valve or bent pushrod for # 4 cylinder if that is the only cylinder that has 0 for compression.
Do you have the owner's manual that came with this vehicle? Look through the maintenance intervals section, it will show you. If not then some vehicle manufacturers recommend changing it whenever the front brake pads are changed @ 30,000 miles, and still there are other vehicles which can go 100,000 miles before the timing belt needs changing. The 2.0 4 cylinder does not require any timing belt maintainance. The belt on the 1.6 should be changed at 60K.(that engine is only used in the 2 Dr). I'm not familiar with the v-6
90,000miles
$89 + tax! I recommend changing water pump also!
Before it breaks
HOW MANY MILES BEFORE CHANGING TIMING BELT
