Through the first week of the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, 18 athletes born in Minnesota have won gold medals in the Winter Olympics. All but one has played ice hockey.

1) Tom Williams, born in Duluth, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1960 Games.

2) Eric Strobel, born in Rochester, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1980 Games.

3) Bill Christian, born in Warroad, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1960 Games.

4) Rog Christian, born in Warroad, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1960 Games.

5) Paul Johnson, born in West St. Paul, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1960 Games.

6) John Maysich, born in Eveleth, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1960 Games.

7) Jack McCartan, born in St. Paul, won gold with the U.S. hockey team at the 1960 Games.
