- MK-III, Gadget; tested at Trinity site in NM
- MK-I, Little Boy; dropped by the B-29 Enola Gay on Hiroshima
- MK-III, Fat Man; dropped by the B-29 Bockscar on Nagasaki
- MK-III, unnamed; arrived in San Francisco on August 18, returned to Los Alamos
The US had production plans to make 20 more in 1945 if Japan had refused to surrender:
- 3 MK-III in September
- 3 MK-III in October
- 7 MK-III mod 1 in November
- 7 MK-III mod 1 in December
