How many people can use the internet at one time?

IPv4 and IPv6 are the most commonly used IP address systems which are only capable of identifying so many people; many people think because of this limit, the amount of people allowed to be connected on a single internet is significantly decreased. Although true in some respect, it is possible for multiple people to connect through a router (or other device) and connect under one address. By recursively adding a router to the internet this way, you can remove this limit (or, alternatively, accept newer methods of IP address systems when they are released). Therefore, theoretically, although bandwidth issues would rise (making everybody's connection to the internet slow), an infinite amount of people can connect to the internet at once.
