Receiving the power of the Holy Spirit means being filled with the divine enabling of God for those acts of service which are the privilege and duty of disciples who follow the Lord Jesus Christ, believing Him to be everything the Bible says He is. The power of the Holy Spirit was promised by the resurrected Jesus before He ascended to heaven. Acts 1:8-9 "But you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight." The New Testamentdistinguishes between having the Spirit, which is true of all believers, and being filled with the Spirit which is an imbuement of power activating that which is already resident. Acts 2:1-4 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them, cloven tongues as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 4:31 "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness." Everyone who repents of sin and believes in Jesus Christ * is born of the Spirit, * indwelt by the Spirit, whose presence makes the believer's body a temple * baptised by the Spirit, thus sealing him for God.

It is a reference to John chapter 3 when Christ is talking to Nicodemus. Specifically: 3Jesus answered and said unto him, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. " Nicodemus saith unto him, "How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. " All people are born of water - the water of birth. Being born of the spirit is when a person chooses to believe and is born of the spirit. Hence born again.

That you are his disciple. If your heart is leading you to do that, it may be a proof that you are a "born again", spirit filled Christian. Only through leading of the Holy Spirit one can embark on this journey.

The Holy Ghost baptism is simply being filled with the Spirit of God. It is His Spirit regenerating your spirit, which is dead because of sin. When Adam sinned, his spirit became dead because of sin and sin fell on all of mankind. The Bible say "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." So our spirit needed to be regenerated by God's Spirit. That is why we must be "born again." Which simply means to be born from above. When one receives the Holy Ghost baptism, he or she will speak in tongues as the initial evidence. Mark 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues." You will see this in Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:1-6, and Acts 2:1-4.

Many are confused about what happened to Sha'ul (Paul) on the road to Damascus. Many think it was a near death experience, but it was the exact opposite. Paul was baptized in the holy spirit on the road to Damascus. That is when his ministry began, after he was spirit filled. If people proclaiming to work for God would do likewise (get spirit filled before they get into any ministry, preaching or teaching), we would have many serious Believers in the Holy One of Israel today. Instead we have businesses called churches with CEO's making money off people proclaiming to believe, that are too lazy to read the Word for themselves. One must REPENT of the worldly pagan ways (practiced in most pro-claimed churches) and the outside world in order to be "BORN AGAIN". There is no short-cut. We must flee Babylon (Rev. 18:4) and repent before we can be be born again. For a detailed explanation of what the baptism of the holy spirit is please check out my teaching at related links. I feel a sermon coming on. lol.

When you call a Church, ask them if they are (1) Born-again and if they have been (2) baptized in the Holy Spirit, If they have had the (3) Pentecostal Experience. If they say yes to these 3 questions, they can help you, otherwise, find a different church.

The Human Spirit is that spirit that enters the body of an unborn child just before it is born. It is said that when the child first moves in the womb that is when the spirit enters the child. That same spirit will leave the body at death and return to that home from where first came to await the resurrection, when it will be reunited with that same body. The body and spirit having fulfilled its purpose here on earth. Human spirit is inspired soul. When a child is born, the body is devoid of soul and spirit. However, the child is born with God's gift of ability to think, feel and act. With the Holy Spirit residing in the body, the child begins to fill its own soul and later, its spirit out of the soul.
