well from the books and films i have inferred that there is four other boys in Harry's Gryffindor dorm: Ron, Neville, Seamus and Dean. which is 5 plus the other four girls in Hermione's that equal 10. unless there is another dorm of each gender that's ten from each house; there's four houses so 40 minus Harry is 39?

Harry's children, James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna Potter, all get sorted into Gryffindor House. Gryffindor is one of the four Houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and is known for its bravery and courage. The other three Houses are Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff. The Potter family has a long history with Gryffindor House. Both Harry and his parents before him were all sorted into Gryffindor. Additionally, many of Harry's friends, such as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, were also sorted into Gryffindor. It is therefore no surprise that all three of Harry's children were sorted into Gryffindor House. Despite the family's long history with the house, James Sirius Potter was slightly anxious before being sorted. In the end, however, all three of the Potter children were placed in Gryffindor House.
This has been a very controversial debate between many intelligent scholars for many years, most of these scholars argue that the Harry Potter movies and books are in fact based on real people and events. There is however a minority of people who do not agree with these wise opinions and say that Harry and his friends are non-existent in real life and that the events are fictional, however these people are largely outspoken and most people believe that Harry Potter is real.
