About 650 pictures.
This site has a chart that tells you how many pictures an SD card can hold as per mega pixel. Please see related link below!
there will only be pictures on the camera if you took any pictures before you put the card in.
For an 8 megapixel camera I would suggest a 2MB memory card,
Each picture is approximately 2.5MB, so you should be able to fit 4 pictures on 11MB of memory. Use a memory card instead of internal memory and you will be able to save hundreds of pictures.
It is recommended with a camera that is this sharp you have a minimum of a 1 gigabyte memory card. On this card you can fit approximately 56 pictures depending on the lighting and subject involved.
If you are clicking on Large Jpeg image format Mode it can take upto 600 pictures !!
This is relative to your camera's settings (specifically its resolution) as well as the amount of internal memory your camera has and the size of your memory card.

well, pictures need to be stored SOMEWHERE on your camera, right? just like how our memories store information, memory cards store the pictures you take. a camera without a memory card is about as good as no camera at all.
