none, not one
This is absolutely an un-truth! The Hollywood version of a continuous cold and barren climate with no life is highly exaggerated! Many animasl live ON the tundra - caribou, moose, Arctic fox, muskoxen, wolverine, lynx, shrews, mice, hares, wolves. Fish - salmon -all 5 types in some areas, dolly varden, rainbow trout, arctic char to name a few, live in most of the streams that are located troughout the tundra. There are birds throughout the tundra lands - eagles, hawks, owls, ravens, sparrow, gulls, terns, hummingbirds, cranes, and many ducks and geese. These animals need plants in order to survive - willowshrubs, mosses and lichen, grasses and sedges, berry plants, lupine, monkshook, chocolate lilly, yarrow, mare's tail, larador tea and hundreds more!!
Many plants and animals live in the tundra biome! Also many people -one example is the U'pik people, live here as well!
