Your engine will take 6 quarts of oil ,,,unless it has the optional external oil cooler,,then you will have to know the capacity of the cooler. Be careful when putting oil in--it's always easier to remove excess oil than remove a damaged engine due to lack of oil.
Yes i Don't know how many Oldsmobile Cutlass 455 were made but it wasn't as many as the Oldsmobile 350 Rocket. So it was a big plus if you had the 455 engine because it wasn't as many around.

There are many ways to increase the 455 horsepower. With a cam/valve train swap and working over the heads (or replacing with aftermarket) you can be in the 500+ range. "Pontiac High Performance" is a great source for information on engine modifications.
