18 quarts total. only 15 quarts are in the lower end of the engine, the other 3 quarts are in the top and circulate through the engine, but are not changed during an oil change. only 15 quarts are change during an oil change, but you can change the other 3 quarts by yourself with a small pump to suck the excess oil out. this oil also controlls the injectors, so it would be wise to change this oil, otherwise you will ruin your injectors.
