A ton is not a numerical unit, that it to say, if I have a ton of rock, I will not have 82. A ton is a unit of weight, equal to 2000 (short ton, US) or 2240 (long ton, UK pre 1985) pounds. A US ton (which is where I'm assuming you're from, as the UK now uses the tonne, which is 1000 kg) is equal to roughly 907kg.
Thus to get a ton of rock, you would need 2000lbs.
A ton of rocks weighs more. Since they both weigh a ton, then they weigh the same.
How many head pans of granite in a ton
tons, a plural but one ton of rocks
They are equal. tw Which weighs more a ton of rocks or a tonne of feathers? They weigh the same!
it takes 1.8 million ounces in a ton
2240 pounds = 1 Imperial ton
It takes two thousand pounds of feathers to make one ton. Depending on the size of the birds from which the feathers are gathered from would determine how many feathers would make a ton.
2000
if you are in the USA ----2000 lbs makes a ton.
"Cubic ton" doesn't make sense. A ton (or "metric ton", to distinguish it from the non-metric ton) has 1000 kilograms.
in the metric system of weights and measures 300,000 kg make 300 ton
1000 kg = 1 ton
