Motley Crue was formed in early 1981 in Los Angeles, California by Nikki Sixx (bass, ex LONDON) and he recruited Vince Neill (vocals, ex ROCK CANDY), Tommy Lee (drums) and Mick Mars (guitar) before issuing their debut album entitled 'Too Fast For Love' in the same year on their own US label.
The album was released in 1987. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that the album was written in that year. However, from evidence taken from Nikki Sixx's The Herion Diaries, we can make a rough estimate that the album writing started sometime in late 1986.
Four chart hits with that title: Nilsson in 1972 Mariah Carey in 1994 Johnny Tillotson in 1961 Motley Crue in 1990 But let's not forget the original version by Badfinger in 1970 which closed out side 1 of "No Dice".

The first 'Glam Metal' band ever, a year or more before Motley Crue, full "Big Hair" leather and make up, was Wrathchild. Not to be confused with the American band, this was the British Band formed in Evesham, England in 1980...
