You need about 6 to 8 apples for a nine inch apple pie which is about 3lbs of apples. Now you may need about 4lbs if your apple pie is deep dish. But if you're using a standard pie plate, then 3lbs should do it.

There are about four cups in a 9" pie. Assuming 8 ounces to a cup, that's 32 ounces in a pie.

Use about six good sized Granny Smith apples - the amount doesn't have to be exact.

This can depend on the type and size of apples you use. You will want to use at least 6 cups of apples, but you can use 7 to 8 cups if the apples are small and you want a nice full pie

There can be no such thing as a one-dimensional pie, and in any case, that depends on the density of its filling.

This will depend on the size of the apples you use, but 6 to 7 cups would be pretty standard
