It depends on where you are...If I were sending a letter from where I am....I would use 1 stamp.
It depends on where you are mailing the letter from. If from the USA, it would take two stamps. If you are not from the USA, then I would suggest going to your post office or place where you send the letters and the workers there will weigh the letter and tell you how many stamps or how much money is needed to mail your letter.

it depends what state you are in or what country you are in. EX. i live in West Vrigina it would take 9 stamps to send to Bolivia from where i am.
