You should clean the cage as often as 3 times a week for one animal. More if there are more than one animal in the cage.
3-4 days, you dont need to take all the hay out, just refresh the cage.
It depends how many guinea pigs you have. If you have 1 or 2 then I would recommend that you clean the hutch once a week. If you have more than three guinea pigs then you will have to clean it out pretty often!
Yes, vinegar is fine to use when cleaning out a guinea pig cage. It really helps with controling the odor produced by guinea pigs, which is why many people use it. Just make sure to rinse the cage off throughly before putting new bedding in the cage.
Once a week
Well it probably depends on how many guinea pigs you have. So try cleaning it out at least once and week. If you can make twice, or three times at the most, even better.
You have to clean it at least twice a week because they are not that dirty
That depends on the size of the cage.
3or 4
Only once a week
depends on your cage - wire bottom - once a week. Solid bottom - every day.
Hi, I am a hermit crab owner. I don't think there is a specific time to clean the cage, I just clean it when there is a lot of poop and food on the ground, which is about every weekend.
You should clean youre hamster cage at least 1 a week. Or you can just spot clean it which means to take out the dirty spots and put NEW bedding in the spot! Hope i helped!
If your guinea pig has long hair, maybe two to three times a week. If your guinea pig has short hair and shed often, two times a week should be fine; if he / she has short hair and does not shed often, once a week should be fine. However, it's key to remember that they clean themselves with their paws. If you see that your guinea pig is often cleaning him/herself, keep the cage cleaner more often.
A well-maintained cage will have to be thoroughly cleaned only 2 or 3 times a year. Every few days, remove any molts, uneaten food and balls of undigested matter from the cage.
well guinea pigs need their space just like us. it really depends on how big their cage is!
Something that makes a great home for a guinea pig is a 10 gallon fish tank. They are relatively cheap at the pet shops and you can get a screened lid for the top. Also, they are very easy to clean, can be washed with soap and water. A 10 gallon fish tank is plenty of room for a guinea pig. NO NO NO and NO guinea pigs can NOT live in an aquarium there is NO air circulation and many many many guinea pigs become blind from being kept in an aquarium. Not joking there must be at LEAST 30 guinea pigs at the shelter that are blind from being kept in a fish tank. Get a c&c cage the MINIMUM cage space for a guinea pig is 7.5 feet of cage!
Since they live about three years, if you cleaned it once a day you would clean it nearly 1100 times. Of course if you cleaned it once a week it would only be 156 times.
Every two weeks unless it smells like it living in a toilet
i clean my guinea pig cage out every 2days all though i have read that it is only necessary once a week but i find that cleaning it every 2days keeps the area that they are in smelling good and also keeps them from having a very nasty potty smell on them but it is up to you on how many times you want to do it..
if there is 1 hamster in the cage once a week should do the trick if there are 2-4 try cleaning it 2 or 3 times a week this is coming from a hamster breeder and owner
I cleaned my gerbils' cage once a week. I owned 3 gerbils and their cage got pretty dirty. If you have more than 3 I would suggest twice a week.
Guinea pigs pee and poo is what tends to make the cage smell. So yes, it usually does tend to smell. The odors that make the cage seem and look really dirty is usually the guinea pigs pee and poo.So as long as you clean your cage minimum once a week you shouldn't have too many odor problems. I would recommend using CareFresh Ultra (or the original) bedding and/or Aspen ( used for Bedding and Litter) for the bottom of your cage.
Well it really depends mostly on how much you care for it/them. The main source of smell is in the hutch or cage, that is why you should clean out your guinea pigs a minimum of three times a week. Obviously all animals can smell whilst doing the toilet but my two male guinea pigs don't give off many bad smells. Hope this helped a bit
Most people will perform daily clean ups of any visible fecal matter in the corn snake's cage. Replacing the whole bedding is usually performed once every two months or so.
You don't technically have to clean the hamster itself, only the cage where it presides. The hamster, you'll notice, cleans itself kind of like a cat would. You should clean the cage when it starts getting smelly or you notice that there is a lot food and droppings on the bottom. :)
