You should feed your fish only once a day and one pinch of fish food will be fine if you have a small fish. If you have a medium or large feed twice a day- once in the morning and once again at night.

someone elses opinion 'Hubble' you should feed your goldfish once every three days because my aunty has a goldfish and hers has been there for 3-4 years now , she only feeds it once every three days

A fish in captivity should be fed the ammount it can eat in 2-3 minutes twice per day. Feed your fish slow enough the food doesn't all sink to the bottom uneaten but at the same time make sure you are feeding enough for every fish to get some. Feeding fish is also a good time to look for ill/sick fish. If fish are not eating or are acting weird when you feed them they probably have a disease.

They will eat however much food you throw in the water which makes them always look hungry and is the reason many people overfeed fish. In the wild fish don't come across food often so when they find food they eat as much as they can get. When you keep them in captivity they are used to eating all they can find so many people overfeed their fish and kill them.

You should feed your fish the ammount they can eat in 2-3 minutes twice per day. It is best you don't let flakes and fish pellets sink to the bottom uneaten. They will decompose in the water and can become toxic to your fish. Get a net and remove any food that your fish don't eat.

If the person is a child, or if you are a woman who is planning on having children or who is nursing, it's better to avoid high-Mercury fish until you're done with pregnancy and nursing. That means stick to small, oily fish (sardines, herring, etc.) and salmon, cod, shellfish, and shrimp.

Children generally shouldn't have any seafood until they are age 3, however. Consult with your child's doctor for specific guidelines.

Otherwise, have fish at every meal if you like.
