Cats often get dirty, yes, but cats do not need baths. Cats take very good care of themselves and wash themselves many times daily. Only if it is absolutely necessary should you wash your cat. But BEWARE! The cat may fight the water. As you probably know, cats hate water.

∙ 14y agoYou should bathe your dog once a week. When your dog comes in with a little or a lot of dirt on it every day don't wash your dog again. Your dog has lots of oil in its hair. In a few minutes it will be gone. If you continue to wash you dog more than once a week its coat will loose its sleekness. Hope this information helps you!

Otherwise, its recommended to be bathed 2-3 times a week. to keep it clean from dirt, parasites, and many other disseases.

∙ 12y agoYou shouldn't need to bathe such a young kitten. Bathing a kitten too much can cause its skin to become dry and thus can cause skin irritations and other problems. Cats are naturally very clean animals, and bathe themselves. Very young kittens cannot bathe themselves are cleaned by the mother, but should be able to wash themselves by the time they go to new homes.
If you believe your kitten is dirty and it is not washing daily, gently wipe the dirty areas with a cloth dampened with warm water only. Soap or shampoo is not needed. If the kitten is refusing to wash, a trip to the vet may be ideal as this may be a sign that the kitten is ill.

∙ 10y agoIt is actually not necessary to bathe a cat, as they are very clean animals, and groom themselves well. The only exceptions to this would be a possible flea bath, or a bath to clean them of something they may have gotten into in the house.
