You should clean your horse out daily if it is stables either full time or overnight.

There are occassionally some methods used in farming where to keep heat in you simply pile on more straw and only clean out at the end of the winter but this is more for cows/cattle than horses who prefer to be clean and dry.

It does not take long to do - 20-30 minutes to clean out, bank the straw up and leave the floor to dry before bedding down again for the night.

You can't clean it often enough. Many people say once a day, or even once a week. I say at least 3 times a day, because of the amount of ammonia in the horse's waste. By the time you can smell the ammonia, it has already been strong enough for hours to damage your horses lungs, so clean it as often as possible.

u should clean a horses stable everyday, if it has straw you need to do a full muck out everyday(poos +wees) if it is sawdust u must skip out everyday and do a full muck out about 2-3 times a week

everyday............horse in stable at night

everyday................horse in stable at day

twice a day.............................horse in stable all the time

And these are minimums. The more often the better, because there is ammonia in the horses urine and feces that will damage his hooves and lungs.

It depends on the horse. Show horses are usually bathed every week or more, and trail horses and more home horses are more just groomed. You should keep your horse clean so you can spot things like sores and hives and more.

a horses stable should be cleaned everyday, with a fortnightly half change and a monthly full change:

everyday, the poo removed and the pee spots turned so that they can dry out.

fortnightly, half the bedding taken out of the stable.and new bedding to replace the old stuff.

monthly, all the bedding removed, floors scrubbed and dried, fresh new bedding layed.

I would recommend a couple of times every week, it also depends how hot it is, and if they are sweating or dirty.

Can you raise laying hens in the same pen as horses and Can the horses get sick from the birds in any way?

The last answer was wrong! Horses may trample on the chickens, bird flu or any illness from the chickens may pass on to the horses... Try to move the chickens into a separate pen. horses are fine with chickens but the horses could get a bit adjetated so it would have to be a big clean pen. also it is not that good for chickens to peck at horse poo but it will not make an impacked on the chickens be sure your chickens don't have bird flue Horses have different systems then chickens and cannot contract the bird flu anymore then a human can. Sickness is not the issue. A horse may easily trample a chicken which seriously cuts down on the life span of the chicken.
