I'm assuming this is standard residential single phase. Simple
calculation as noted below:
Watts / Volts = Amps
So: 200 Watts / 120 Volts = 1.666~ Amps
If you needed to calculate for a 220 volt run with the same 200
Watts
200 Watts / 220 Volts = 0.909~ Amps
Remember 80% load per circuit breaker so a 15 amp breaker you
should only load to 12 amps or less. Using Watt / Volts = Amps is
the same as Amps x Volts = Watts.
15 Amps X .8 (80%) = 12 Amps max per circuit (for a 15 amp
breaker/fuse)
So 12 Amps x 120 Volts = 1440 Watts max for a 15 amp circuit
(typical 14 gauge wire)

Breaker sizing is dependant on what the load amperage is that
the breaker is connected to. If the amperage is not given but just
the wattage, use this equation I = W/E. Amps = Watts/Volts. This
air conditioner unit should be on a dedicated circuit receptacle.
On these types of loads the conductor can only be loaded to 80% of
the conductors rating. So a 15 amp breaker times 80% = 12 amps or
Watts = Amps x Volts, 12 x 120 = 1440 watts. A 20 amp breaker times
80% = 16 amps or Watts = Amps x Volts, 16 x 120 = 1920. Once the
breaker is sized remember to use the correct wire size to
correspond with the amperage of the breaker.

Code will let you load up a conductor up to 80%. Full load on a
# 12 wire is 16 amps.

wire size calculations. Always use the motor nameplate for the most
accurate amperage of a motor.

No you will not even get close to 1600 watts from that amp. If
you read the spec for the amp they were putting 16-18 volts into
the amp to get the claimed wattage. In your car you will be lucky
to get 13.5 volts. You will see maybe 350 watts. A good rule when
buying amps is a good amp will run about $1.00 a watt. So a $300
amp will be @ 300 or so watts.
