That depends on the size of the pillows. Measure the length and width of the pillow, then multiply times 2 (for top and bottom). Then add at least 1 inch on all four sides to for seam allowance.

How to Choose a Pillowcase and Pillow Sham?

Pillowcases and pillow shams are an easy, practical way to add color and style to your bedroom decor. You can add color to your existing bed set by using embroidered pillowcases or decorative pillow shams. You can use the pillows encased in pillowcases or pillow shams by propping them up against the headboard or just tossing them as a contrast against the pillows you’ll use to sleep with. These colorful additions can make a bed look and feel very comfortable. Choosing the right size for your pillowcase or pillow sham is very important to achieve the proper look. Try following these steps to ensure the proper fitting. Step 1: Measure your pillow. If it is a standard size pillow, it should be approximately 20 x 26 inches. Usually a twin bed will use only one pillow, while a full size bed will use two or more. If you are shopping for a queen bed, the pillow should measure approximately 20 x 30 inches, and you will need to use at least two pillows. If you are shopping for a king size bed it should measure 20 x 36 inches and you will need to use at least three pillows. Step 2: Choose a fabric for your pillowcase or pillow sham that you would enjoy laying on and against for an extended amount of time. It can be the same as your sheet set, or you can diversify and choose a fabric that is appealing to your senses. You should choose a fabric that is easy for you to clean, as you will be using the pillowcases and pillow shams frequently. Step 3: Choose coordinating colors with your favorite bedding set, or mix and match different designs and styles to make your own fashion statement. There really is not right or wrong look when you are selecting a pillowcase or pillow sham. The important thing to remember about selecting pillowcases and pillow shams is that you need to have the right size for your pillows. You can change up your pillowcases and pillow shams and have fun changing the look of your bedroom décor frequently by simply changing fabrics or styles and designs.

How many yards of fabric to make a king size blanket?

I would use 3 1/2 yds x 120" width fabric. My mattress is 12" thick and I left 8"on both sides for the tuck(I like enough tuck underneath so the sheet won't come undone. So my measurements are Mattress 60 wide x 80 long. For the fitted sheet 60"+12 (width of the mattress) +12(WOM) +8(for tuck)+8(for tuck)=100"wide. For the length 80"+12"+12"+8"+8"=120"length. So cut length is 100"wide x 120"length..If you like you can adjust the tuck to less inches..

How do you make a pillow sham?

Using a pillow sham is a great way to jazz up a tired old pillow and make it really stand out as a decorative piece in your room. With some very basic sewing knowledge and a great fabric, you can give your pillow new life and style. # Step 1 # Measure the pillow you would like to cover. # Step 2 Choose your desired fabric, along with any decorative trim or pieces you would like to use. # Step 3 Fold the fabric in half, print side in. # Step 4 Cut your fabric to size, leaving about 1-½ inch extra in all directions for the hem. # Step 5 Use a sewing machine to sew a simple stitch from the fold of the fabric out along the two longest sides. # Step 6 Cut off any excess along the edges. # Step 7 Fold over your fabric along the bottom of your pillow sham to create the hem. # Step 8 Sew along the hem, leaving your pillow sham open so you can slide a pillow into it. # Step 9 Add any desired decorative pieces to your pillow using your sewing machine, or even fabric glue. # Step 10 Turn your pillow sham right-side-out and slide your pillow inside. # == #* Fabric #* Sewing machine #* Needle and thread
