How many years did it take to find the wreck of the Titanic?
About 73 years
The wreck of HMS Titanic was found several years ago, about a mile beneath the surface, in the northern Atlantic. It has been visited many times by divers in special submersible craft. A few years ago, the last survivor of the disaster was taken down to see it. She was an infant at the time, and has since died. The wreck is in bad condition and is deteriorating rapidly. Much of it can be clearly…
Usually because of the weight. Many artifacts from Titanic wreck were taken into museums. They had part of the ship such as propellers and the steering wheel. The angel with the torch from the grand staircase was recovered from Titanic wreck, and was all in one piece, but just the color washed out from all the water.
When Rose boarded Titanic she was 17 years old. When she told her story to Brock Lovett many years later she was 100. She apparently died at the age of 104, on October 1, 1999. The movie character, Rose DeWitt Bukater, was born in 1895, so if she were still alive (in 2009), she would be 124 years old. She was 17 when she survived the wreck of the Titanic.
The movie "Titanic" (1997) is based on the actual shipwreck of the cruise ship RMS Titanic in April, 1912. The film includes much of the factual information on the disaster, and many of the characters were real people who were on the ship. But the central characters Rose (Bukater), Jack (Dawson) and Cal (Hockley) were not actual people.
