Comet Hale-Bopp was visible in the sky in 1996 and 1997, and caused quite a stir back then. It is still faintly visible in very large telescopes, but is over 28 AU from Earth.
Comet Hale-Bopp will probably return to the inner solar system somewhere around the year 4350.
We believe that comet Hale-Bopp has only approached the Sun twice; once in 1995, and once about 4400 years ago. Because of the comet's gravitational interactions with Jupiter, the next appearance will be about 2300 years from now.
Comet Hale-Bopp was last seen with the naked eye in 1998. It can still be seen in the largest telescopes, but only as an extremely faint dot.
Its last approach to the Sun was probably around 2500 BC, and it will probably return to the inner solar system around the year 4350.
Based on current calculations, not until the year 4385. However, like all comets, Hale Bopp is subject to gravitational perturbations when it passes near other massive bodies - and there may yet be some massive objects lurking out there, deep in the Kuiper belt. It may never return at all.
Or perhaps we will decide to go get it with our super spaceships of the year 2400, and collect it for display in the Smithsonian.
The next time Hally's comet will be seen is in April 22, 2011.
It circles the Sun once every 2537 years. Its closest approach is just inside the orbit of the Earth, so we should have a very good show every time it comes in.
Approximately AD 4530. You probably shouldn't start making plans quite yet.
Halley's comet has a period of about 76 years and is expected to return in 2061.
Hale-Bopp has a period of about 2500 years, so won't be back until around 4385.
2020, then after that 4534.
they most often appear in humid places.
Pairs? No. Sunspots can be singular, but more often develop in clusters.
Not exactly in the funnel of a tornado, but in somce cases a rainbow may appear next to, in front of, or behind a tornado. This often happens when a tornado is near the edge of a thunderstorm and is surrounded by rain. Since tornadoes most often occur in the late afternoon, the sun can easily be at a low enough angle to produce a rainbow.
A small group of stars that appear to be close together are often known a cluster. Technically its an asterism.
They are often dark when viewed from below, but when observed from a distance or from above, they appear white just like any other cloud.
